Evaluation: Question 1

Here i have compared stills from our final product and the opening scene of Arlington Road.

Here the stills in Arlington Road are inverted but we have a clear still image but have changed the color to red. Our still here seems more calm as it is a close up of leaves swaying where as Arlington road's clip is fast cutting to make it more scary.

As you can see, we both used black fonts onto a pale background. Arlington Road’s title is simple and bold whereas we opted for a more unique type font to coincide with the atmosphere of our tile sequence.

In these stills, The Grove has a pink background which is also but Arlington road has a dark background. The Grove’s title is much more bigger than Arlington Roads. Also in this still, the size of the surname is bigger than the forename.

Here we have visual similarities, as we got inspiration of the panning of gates in Arlington Road. Arlington road has a shadow of the gates whereas ours is red. Arlington road looks more sinister it has a blood red type colour.

Another visual similarity is the still of the road names. We both have effects on the stills. In The Grove, we added noise which makes it more pixilated

Here we both added stills of a dog. We were unable to have it as close up as the still in Arlington Road but managed to film one.

Both of our stills are on a black background as it is the title of the film. The grove is centred in the middle to make it clear.
